Free shoppable video and stories apps for Shopify, with a phone showing a story slide and a product card

As of October 1, 2026, 16 of the 18 shoppable video and stories apps we read on the Shopify App Store have a $0 plan next to their paid ones, and 2 are free outright. What each free shoppable video app caps varies. Eight free plans put no cap on video views: Moast, Vizup, Video Slider (Doran), Avada, Storista, Videoselz, My Stories and Reelfy. They limit the number of videos instead, from 10 to 50. Six more cap views, clicks or impressions at 100 to 2,000 a month. The last two limit your storefront: Tolstoy's free plan is a 30-day trial for eligible accounts, and Videowise's free plan publishes to the Shop app and TikTok Shop only.

Every listing was read on apps.shopify.com that day, with its rating and review count. Storiq is our app and sits in the same tables. For paid plan prices as traffic grows, see how much shoppable video costs on Shopify; for formats, our comparison of shoppable video apps for Shopify.

Free plan, free trial or free to install

Each listing prints a label under "Pricing", and three different ones appear across these 18 apps.

Four Shopify App Store pricing labels, free plan available, free, free to install and free trial available, with the shoppable video apps that carry each one as of October 1, 2026

  • Free plan available. A $0 plan with no end date, sold next to paid plans. 15 of the 18 listings carry it, and 13 of those also list a trial on their paid plans.
  • Free. The app has no paid plan. ReelMe: Shoppable Video Reels (5.0, 10 reviews, launched February 2026) offers carousel, stories, grid, stack and popup widgets. Shopeo ‑ Shoppable Videos by Acowebs (5.0, 2 reviews) imports Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts.
  • Free to install. Firework's label. Its Pilot plan costs $0 for 1,000 views and 10 uploads a month, and the next plan is $39.

A free trial is days on a paid plan before the first charge. Shopify tracks trial days over a 180-day period: use 12 of 15 trial days, uninstall, come back 90 days later, and 3 days are left.

Tolstoy sits between a free plan and a trial. Its listing reads "Free plan available", and the free plan card says "30-day trial for eligible accounts", with uncapped on-site views for 30 days; "Publish shoppable videos to your store" appears in Starter, $12 a month. See Tolstoy alternatives for apps whose free plan has no end date.

Free shoppable video apps with no view cap

These eight free plans count videos, so a traffic spike costs nothing.

Table of 8 free shoppable video app plans for Shopify with unlimited views: videos allowed, where they show, branding, analytics and first paid plan, read October 1, 2026

  • Video Slider: Shoppable Videos by Doran (4.9, 371 reviews) allows the most: 50 uploads, unlimited views, import and Shop app integration. Analytics come with the $9 Unlimited plan.
  • Avada Shoppable Videos Reel (5.0, 201 reviews) allows 30 videos and unlimited products per video, but one placement, on the home page only, with a Shopvid watermark.
  • Moast (5.0, 338 reviews) allows 10 videos per widget and unlimited widgets on any page, with product tagging, import, basic analytics and Shop app publishing. Pro, $15, removes Moast branding.
  • Videoselz (5.0, 36 reviews) allows 10 videos per playlist and unlimited playlists, with tagging of several products and basic analytics. The free plan lists "your logo as watermark".
  • Vizup (5.0, 97 reviews) lists unlimited product tags, 6 widget designs and advanced analytics, and states no video limit.
  • Storista (4.9, 55 reviews), My Stories (5.0, 25 reviews) and Reelfy (4.8, 255 reviews) each allow 10 videos. Storista and My Stories show their branding; Reelfy lists "no brandmark" and one gallery per widget.

Analytics is where these plans differ most. Moast, Videoselz and Vizup list it on the free plan; Doran, Avada, Storista, My Stories and Reelfy list it only on a paid plan.

Free plans that cap views, clicks or impressions

Six free plans, Storiq's included (see below), meter your audience each month, each in its own unit, so 300 Whatmore clicks and 1,000 Firework views are different budgets: a widget is usually seen far more often than it is tapped.

Table of 8 capped free plans: ReelUp, Whatmore, Quinn, Firework, Storiq and PlayShorts with their monthly cap, plus Tolstoy and Videowise, read October 1, 2026

  • ReelUp (4.9, 300 reviews): 100 views a month, counted after 4 seconds of watching, 10 videos, basic analytics and a watermark.
  • Whatmore (4.9, 377 reviews): 300 video clicks, 15 videos, a home page carousel, a floating video on product pages, stories and 5 AI product matches.
  • Quinn Shoppable Videos & Reels (4.9, 107 reviews): 550 views, counted only when someone watches, 5 uploads on 2 video pages, with several products tagged per video.
  • Firework (5.0, 48 reviews): 1,000 views and 10 uploads, with Firework branding until the $259 Growth plan.
  • PlayShorts (5.0, 95 reviews): 2,000 impressions and unlimited widgets; its first paid plan is $49.

Videowise (4.8, 252 reviews) sits apart. Its free plan publishes to the Shop app and TikTok Shop with import, tagging and hosting, and "unlimited shoppable videos on site" is listed in Pro, $9 a month for 5,000 unique widget impressions. For on-site video at $0, see Videowise alternatives.

Free stories apps for Shopify

Twelve of the 18 listings name stories among their formats: round bubbles that open a full-screen player you tap through. Only two free plan cards say stories are included: Whatmore ("Instagram-like stories") and Storiq ("product page stories"). The others name the format without tying it to a plan, so check it in the app first. My Stories, despite its name, lists carousel, sticky bar and circle layouts. Our page on shoppable stories covers when the format fits.

Storiq's free plan

Storiq ‑ Product Stories launched on September 29, 2026 and has no reviews yet. It adds a story bar to your theme through a theme app block, with slides built from images and videos in your Shopify Files library, served by Shopify's CDN. Free covers 3 active stories, 1,000 story views a month, product page stories and 7-day analytics. On the free plan, stories play without a product card: the card that shows a tagged product's image, title and live price starts on Starter, $9.99 a month, with 15 stories, 10,000 views, scheduling, and home and collection placements. Storiq does not import from Instagram or TikTok; you download the clip and upload it, as our guide to adding Reels and TikToks to Shopify shows.

Free trials on paid plans

Free trial length on the paid plans of 14 Shopify shoppable video apps, from 3 days on Vizup to 30 days on Video Slider by Doran, read October 1, 2026

Trials run from 3 days (Vizup) to 30 days on Doran's Unlimited plan; most apps give 7 or 14, and My Stories lists 7 days on its Advanced plan only. PlayShorts and Firework list none.

After the trial, the plan joins your Shopify bill on a 30-day cycle. Canceling inside an app does not stop Shopify billing: you also uninstall it from Settings > Apps. A charge already generated can still show on your next invoice.

How to pick a free plan

  1. Start from the page. Avada's free plan shows on the home page only, Storiq's on product pages only, Quinn's on 2 video pages. Moast and Videoselz allow any page, PlayShorts several pages.
  2. Count your first month of videos. Ten clips fill most free plans; Doran (50), Avada (30) and Whatmore (15) hold more.
  3. Decide whether branding matters. Moast, Storista, Avada, My Stories, ReelUp and Firework show theirs on the free plan.
  4. Check the product tag. If you only need a clip with no tag, Shopify plays video natively: see adding video to a Shopify product page.
  5. Run the free plan for a month and read the app's own counter before you upgrade.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free shoppable video app for Shopify?

Yes. As of October 1, 2026, 15 of the 18 shoppable video and stories apps we read on the Shopify App Store list a free plan, Firework has a $0 Pilot plan, and ReelMe and Shopeo are free outright. Moast, Vizup, Video Slider (Doran), Avada, Storista, Videoselz, My Stories and Reelfy put no cap on views in their free plans and limit the number of videos instead.

Which free shoppable video app allows the most videos?

Video Slider: Shoppable Videos by Doran allows 50 uploads with unlimited views on its free plan. Avada Shoppable Videos Reel allows 30 videos, on the home page only. Whatmore allows 15, and most other free plans stop at 10, or 10 per widget on Moast.

What is the difference between a free plan and a free trial on Shopify apps?

A free plan is a $0 plan with no end date: you stay on it as long as you fit its limits. A free trial is a set number of days on a paid plan before the first charge, from 3 to 30 days on the apps we read. Shopify tracks trial days over 180 days, so uninstalling and reinstalling an app does not give you a new trial.

Is Videowise free on Shopify?

Videowise has a free plan, but as of October 1, 2026 it covers the Shop app and TikTok Shop, with import, product tagging and hosting. Shoppable video on your own store pages is listed in Videowise Pro, $9 a month for 5,000 unique widget impressions, with a 14-day trial.
